I've made peace with being the joke and the punchline both, so bring a sense of humour. I prance, actual prancing, across a normal room, for no occasion at all. If you laugh, I consider that a green light.

I bounce when I walk, like the floor is slightly more exciting than floors normally are. I've never once entered a room quietly. My default facial expression is delighted surprise, at everything, always.

My coat is a full time job, a proper groom every 4 to 6 weeks and brushing most days or the powder puff look becomes a matted situation fast. My skin gets itchy and allergy prone too, so keep an eye on any scratching that seems excessive. I remain, throughout all of it, extremely upbeat.

You find unearned enthusiasm charming rather than exhausting. You don't mind a dog who treats every trip to the letterbox like a parade. And you're prepared to be occasionally, mildly, embarrassed in public by how happy I am to be alive.

I've genuinely pranced in celebration of finding my own toy exactly where I left it. Every time. It never stops being exciting.
