Jurong East HDB clinic; lots of regulars, lots of repeat dogs, calm sense of continuity.
What this clinic is specifically known for is the original Island Veterinary Clinic since 2011; the steady west option for routine care. The team is Dr Tharm Sook Keng's long-running team; familiar faces year after year. At the consultation, ask what the findings mean, which options are available and what should prompt a follow-up.
On hours and scope: mon-sat daytime with evening sessions; sun half day. This is a routine practice. For middle-of-the-night emergencies (collapse, bloat, suspected poisoning, anything that needs a CT scanner before sunrise), the call is to one of the 24-hour A&E hospitals on the emergency list, not here. For everything else (vaccination planning, sterilisation, the lump you noticed at the weekend, health changes in an older dog), this is the kind of practice that earns long-term trust.
Who this clinic suits: owners in the Jurong East catchment who want a primary vet they can stay with for a decade. Ask whether an appointment is required, request an itemised estimate, and confirm any insurance paperwork or direct-billing arrangements before booking. The address is 114 Jurong East Street 13, #01-404, Singapore 600114, and the booking line is +65 6560 5991.
The small thing nobody mentions: turn up five minutes early on the first visit, with the puppy in a harness if the harness is fitted yet. The first impression of a clinic is largely formed in the waiting room, not the consult room, and the calmer you are on the way in, the calmer the dog is on the table.

This is my second time visiting the clinic to get my dear Lolly spayed and everything went smoothly. The team explained everything thoroughly and what made us feel even more comfortable was the constant reminder that we could ask questions at any time regarding anything related to our cats. It really shows how sincere they are and how willing the team is to help us care for our fur babies. Due to their service being genuine and positive for us to gain much trust, we are glad to announce that we’ve chosen Island Vet as our permanent clinic for the kiddos too! 😁 Thank you once again Island Vet team! It’s been a lovely journey and here’s to many more visits 🩷

We first came to this clinic in 2016 and had a really good experience. We continued coming back for a few years after that, and recently returned with our newest 9-month-old cat for sterilisation. The care was just as reassuring and professional as before. Even with other clinics nearby, we still trust this one. Highly recommend! 🐾

I got to know Dr Poon through a friend, and it turned out to be the best recommendation ever. I could feel her genuine love and compassion for animals, and she has always cared for my furbaby as if she were her own. My furbaby battled kidney disease and multiple health issues, and Dr Poon patiently and lovingly managed her condition for six long years. Although my furbaby has recently crossed the rainbow bridge, my heart is filled with deep gratitude for Dr Poon, Douglas, and her wonderful team. Thank you for the kindness, dedication, and exceptional care you gave. It truly meant the world to me and Hippo. Wishing the Island Vet team continued success and blessings. 🤍

How this clinic compares nearby
The things that decide where you actually drive are whether they can see you now, whether they take walk-ins, and whether the tests can be run on site instead of sent away. Here is Island Veterinary Clinic (Jurong) against its closest neighbours on exactly that.
- A&E means the clinic is set up for accident and emergency, not just consults.
- In-house lab and imaging means bloods and X-rays happen in the building, so you get an answer the same visit.
